Level IV Intermediate Mid to Intermediate High Proficiency

 

LIV.1.A  The student is expected to ask and respond to questions about and beyond the scope of everyday life with elaboration in spoken and written conversation.

 

LIV.1.B  The student is expected to ask and respond to questions in unfamiliar contexts in spoken and written communication with limited details.

 

LIV.1.C  The student is expected to express and exchange personal opinions, preferences, and recommendations with supporting elaborative statements in spoken and written communication.

 

LIV.1.D  The student is expected to ask and tell others what they need to do, should, and must do using detailed rationale in spoken and written conversation.

 

LIV.1.E  The student is expected to articulate requests, offer suggestions, and develop plans with supporting elaborative statements in spoken and written conversation.

 

LIV.1.F  The student is expected to interact and react in spoken conversation using culturally appropriate expressions, register, and gestures.

 

LIV.1.G  The student is expected to interact and react in writing using culturally appropriate expressions, register, and style.

 

LIV.2.A  The student is expected to analyze culturally authentic print, digital, audio, audiovisual materials in a variety of contexts.

 

LIV.2.B  The student is expected to paraphrase and analyze the main idea, theme, and supporting details from fiction and nonfiction texts, audio, and audiovisual materials.

 

LIV.2.C  The student is expected to infer the meaning of unfamiliar words or phrases in texts, audio, and audiovisual materials. 

 

LIV.2.D  The student is expected to compare and contrast cultural practices and perspectives from authentic print, digital, audio, and audiovisual materials.

 

LIV.3.A  The student is expected to express and defend an opinion or persuade others orally and in writing with supporting elaborative statements and with recommendations.

 

LIV.3.B  The student is expected to narrate situations and events orally and in writing using connected sentences and some connected discourse with details and elaboration.

 

LIV.3.C  The student is expected to inform others orally and in writing about a variety of topics using connected sentences and some connected discourse with details and elaboration.
